HISTORY:
Heidi was the youngest of two daughters born on the Sycamore estate in the countryside miles outside of Kalpana. She and her sister Calanthia loved stories. All kinds, really, but Heidi especially loved fantasy adventures. Her favorites were about Alice and her Wonderland. As a child she would pretend to be Alice and explore her estate and its grounds with unsurpassed imagination. Calanthia sometimes played along, but mostly acted as caregiver to her younger sister because their aristocrat parents were too busy or disinterested to tend to either of them. Most of the time Heidi didn't mind.
Yet as she grew older, not having a reliable mother and father figure took its toll. She began to resent her sister in some way deep down. Partly because she so often tried to convince her to stop playing in her Wonderland and focus on growing up. But it also occured to her that perhaps her parents weren't more active in raising her was because they saw Calanthia was doing a decent job of it and didn't feel the need to intervene. It was nonsense, of course, but that was just the start of it.
At the age of twelve, her parents were mysteriously killed while on business in Kalpana. Heidi became withdrawn, ignoring everyone, even her sister, to play in her imaginary world.
Because Calanthia was only sixteen and not yet old enough to inherit the estate, the girls were sent to live in a foster home in Kalpana. Unfortunately for them, the unsavory couple who signed up for the foster systerm only did it for the money. And when they found out about the girls, they thought they would receive more money than usual for taking them in. When that did not turn out to be the case, they resented the girls and worked them to the bone. This caused Heidi to become even more withdrawn and detached.
Unbeknownst to either of them, the man had taken a lecherous liking to Calanthia. At first, he did nothing for fear of her telling. The last thing he wanted was to lose his main sources of income and be arrested on top of it. But as time went on, his desire grew and little by little he made it clear what he wanted from her. Calanthia also made it equally clear that she wanted nothing to do with him and outright declined his advances. She tried to tell the wife, but that woman thought the beautiful girls to be devilish liars and sent them both off to do the worst work she could think of each time the subject was brought up.
This went on for almost two years, getting steadily worse until Calanthia was finally nearing her eighteenth birthday. When that day came, she would be old enough to inherit the estate and she and Heidi could go back to live there. Finally, they would be free once again. During all this time, however, Heidi had become nothing more and nothing less than a stranger to her. She never spoke and never smiled. Her eyes were always glazed over with wonder, even when staring at nothing. Calanthia hoped that once they returned home, she would find a way to bring her sister, her little Alice, back from this void.
But she would never get that chance. With the second to last paycheck he would receive for caring for the girls in hand, the man had nothing left to lose. He made one final advance at Calanthia, which was spurned, and then they both disappeared. On Calanthia's birthday, he returned but she did not. The police could not prove that he had done anything, so no charges were filed. But just to be safe, they took Heidi out of his care.
When she was being taken away to another foster home and Calanthia was not there, something in Heidi snapped. She suddenly awoke from her daydream haze and went mad trying to get away. She had to find her sister. It wasn't until she was no longer around that Heidi realized just how much Calanthia meant to her. How much she loved her. Needed her. Heidi cried and screamed and attacked anyone who came in contact with her, trying to escape. It didn't stop until they sedated her. Instead of being delivered to another foster home, she was sent to the psychiatric ward for evaluation.
Heidi spent over three years in hospitals and the asylum. Periodically she would wake up and continue her escape attempts. Yet most of the time she remained unconscious, sedated or otherwise heavily medicated, and dreaming of her Wonderland. Because of this, she was no longer able to distinguish reality from her dreams. They went from being figments of her imagination, to the only thing she knew to be consistant. In her mind, and therefore in her reality, she was Alice. And waking up in the asylum or in a hospital was the nightmare she would awake from in her Wonderland. She might still be there today if it weren't for the successful prisonbreak.
It happened about half a year ago. She wasn't targeted specifically, as far as she knows, but the resulting ruccus allowed Heidi, or Alice as she insists on being called, to escape the asylum. Once she was no longer under the constant barrage of mind-numbing medication and she was already free, she did not go into a violent rage. She did, however, go in search of her sister. Along the way she discovered that this world she's in is not at all the Wonderland she knows. Still, she will make the best of it and use what she learned in her world to survive in this one until she finds Calanthia and they can go home at last.
WEAPONS:
-Vorpal Blade: A large knife that is uncannily good at beheading.
-Croquet mallet

ABILITIES:
Alice is a skilled fighter, especially with the Vorpal Blade which is perfect for close-combat. She also likes to use a croquet mallet for heavy attacks, a slingshot for ranged attacks, and a clockwork bomb for stealth attacks. Her wild and vivid imagination is also something of a special ability as it allows her to think of unique ways out of situations and equally unique ways of looking at them.
